DILI, 12 january 2026 (TATOLI) — The National Institute of Pharmacy and Medical Products (INFPM – acronym in Portuguese) has allocated US$14 million for the procurement of medicines, medical consumables, and pharmaceutical equipment, INFPM’s Executive Director, Paulina Mendonça Maher has said.
According to Maher the institute will launch a public tender for the procurement of the medicines to ensure adequate national supply.
She stressed that the public tender will be open to both national and international companies.
Maher added that companies which demonstrated strong performance in 2025 will also be given the opportunity to continue supplying pharmaceuticals.
She explained that INFPM increased the allocation this year due to recurring year-to-year fluctuations in medicine prices.
The director said the procurement will source medicines from India, Malaysia, China, Australia, Indonesia, and Portugal.
In 2025, INFPM allocated more than US$13 million for the purchase of medicines, consumables, and pharmaceutical equipment.
