DILI, 28 April 2026 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL) on Monday arrested and detained five foreign nationals on suspicion of drug trafficking.

The five individuals—four Indonesian citizens and one Chinese national—were apprehended in Dili on allegations of involvement in the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of crystal methamphetamine.

A police operation in various locations in Dili, including Kampung Merdeka, Merkadu Lama, and Bidau—areas suspected of drug trafficking activities—resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

During searches of the suspects’ residences, law enforcement officers seized a car suspected of being used to facilitate drug trafficking.

The suspects are being held in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.
