DILI, 22 July 2026 (TATOLI) — The Council of Ministers has approved the agreement between Timor-Leste and Vanuatu on the exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders.
The agreement was approved following a proposal presented by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Jesuína Maria Ferreira Gomes.
The decision marks a milestone in bilateral relations and aims to facilitate official travel between the two countries.
“This Agreement reflects the desire to strengthen existing relations and facilitate official visits between the two countries through the reciprocal recognition of diplomatic, official, and service passports and the granting of visa exemptions to their holders for entry into and stays in each other’s territories,” said in a statement.
The decision strengthens the deep bonds of friendship and solidarity between the two nations, rooted in their shared identity as Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
