DÍLI, 17 July 2026 (TATOLI) – The 2026 Dili International Marathon, to be held on 8 August 2026, is proud to recognize the support given by the European Union Diplomatic Mission to Timor-Leste as the event’s main Gold Level through a financial support of USD 26,000 towards this year’s event. The event forms part of the European Union’s broader engagement with Timor-Leste under the Global Gateway strategy, which promotes sustainable partnerships, inclusive development, and stronger connections between people and communities.
The European Union’s support reflects the strong and positive partnership it continues to build with Timor-Leste, grounded in shared values of cooperation, community wellbeing, inclusion, and sustainable development. These values connect naturally with the spirit of the 2026 Dili International Marathon and this year’s theme, “Love Our Forests and Wildlife,” as the event brings people together through sport while also promoting respect for health, environment, and community.
