DILI, 06 september 2021 (TATOLI) – The government of Timor-Leste through the meeting of the Council of Ministers on wednesday had approved the General State Budget (OBS) for the fiscal year 2022, totaling US$ 1,675 billion, presented by the Minister of Finance, Rui Augusto Gomes.
Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães informed that the budget bill would be presented to the National Parliament for discussion on october 15, 2021.
“The Council of Minister had approved the bill for the State budget of 2022, totaling US$ 1.675 billion,” Minister Magalhães said after the Meeting of Council Ministers at the Government Palace, on wednesday.
Magalães said the US$ 1.675 includes the budget for Central Administration, Special Administrative Region Authority of Oé-Cusse Ambeno (RAEOA), and Social Security.
The Government approved the 2022 General State Budget, covering 43 programs of six national priorities. The higher percentage is allocated a far higher on the productive sectors with 27 percent on agriculture, tourism, environment, and connectivity; followed by 22 percent on housing and social inclusion, 12 percent on good governance, 10 percent on human capital development, 3 percent on rural development, 0.5 percent on the private sector development, 18 percent on the functioning of the State machine, and 8 percent on other activities.
Of the US$ 1.675 of the General State Budget for the Fiscal Year 2022, US$ 656.9 million was allocated for public transfers, US$ 449.8 million for goods and services, US$401.7 for capital development, US$ 233 million for salaries and wages, and US$24.4 million for minor capital.
