At the same place, one of the speakers at the seminar, Lauriano Fernandes said parents play a crucial role in developing positive thinking and attitude of a child.
“For a child to have positive thinking, the parents have to be the role model and giving good examples for them to learn at a very young age. For instance, parents shouldn’t argue or fight with each other when their kids are present,” said Fernandes.
Fernandes added good habit formation of a child should start right from the family, therefore, good family education and parenting skills are crucial for children’s development.
“The good parent-child connection has a major impact on most aspects of child development, including having a positive impact on children’s self-esteem, school achievement, cognitive development, and behavior. It would lead the kids to love their family, communities, and their country,” Fernandes added
Alexander Soares, a seminarian of the Catholic Seminary of Our Lady of Fátima (SENOFA) in Dili said that he was delighted to learn new science in a new environment.
