DILI,15 november 2022 ( TATOLI)– The Ambassador of Timor – Leste to Brunei Darussalam, Abel Guterres introduced five International investors to meet with President Republic, José Ramos Horta to discuss the future Investment opportunity which will be done in Timor – Leste.
The five International investors include investors from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and China.
“I bring five International investors from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and China to meet President Horta. They are from the Oborsiana Organization under the network companies that will conduct the investment in Timor – Leste,” the Ambassador of Timor – Leste to Brunei Darussalam, Abel Guterres told reporters at the Presidential palace, Aitarak- Laran, Dili on monday.
Ambassador Guterres informed that after meeting with the President of the Republic, the five International investors will visit Baucau to meet with the President of Baucau Municipal and the other local Authorities to discuss the investment in the tourism and industrial sectors which will provide job opportunities to Timorese in the future.
” They are very honorable to meet with the President of the Republic, Government, and also the local authority in Baucau and other municipalities, hope that the communities in Baucau will work together with them to realize the investment in Baucau as soon as possible,” said Guterres.
At the same place, the Representative of Brunei Darussalam investor, Haji Inacir updated President Horta on the process of sending Timorese workers to Brunei Darussalam.
“Currently the process of sending the workers to Brunei is under the Government’s s system. When the process is complete, the workers will be working in Brunei Darussalam,” said Haji Inacir.
Haji Inacir added that the company from Brunei Darussalam had worked together with the Non-Governmental Organization from East Timor Development Program ( ETDA) and the Tibar Youth Center had interviewed a number of Timorese.
” Timorese workers who passed the tests will work in the hotels, construction, agriculture, and also in the oil and gas sector in Brunei Darussalam,” he said.
Based on the plan Brunei Darussalam will recruit over 20,000 Timorese workers to work in Brunei Darussalam in the future.
Previously the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam in Timor – Leste, He Wan Hadji Lutfan Bin Abdul Latief, had informed that sending of Timorese workers to Brunei Darussalam is under private companies saying at the moment both countries have not completed the labor mobility agreement.
