DILI, 17 january 2023 (TATOLI)- The Infrastructure Development Support Equipment Management Institute (IGEADI) revealed that since 2018, it has responded to 325 requests from the public to open and repair roads across the country.

“There have been more than 600 requests from the public and to date, we have responded to 325 requests and we still have more than 200 remain,” said IGEADI Chair, Ermenegildo da Costa Laurentina at the IGEADI office, this Monday.

Ermenegildo also mentioned two conditions in an incoming request that will be processed following the rules of IGEADI, a normal request, and an emergency request.

For these requests he explained, Normal request had to reach the Head of IGEADI then it would be oriented and it would be reported what needed to be done, while for Emergency requests responding to floods, landslides, or other things that considered an emergency, the team would go directly to the field.

According to Ermenegildo, IGEADI continues to strive on deploying all of its members in the field, however, adding that since a lot of heavy equipment is damaged, it prevents all services from being completed on time.

“Absolutely we will respond to all the requests if the condition of all the heavy types of equipment are qualified enough to respond to all the requests,”

IGE has been transformed since 2016, and since then the state has purchased 106 types of heavy equipment of which 101 are still functioning and 5 are damaged.

In addition, before being transformed into IGE, the Government of Japan had donated 166 pieces of heavy equipment including generators, but currently, only 28 are functioning and the rest are not.

In addition, Laurentina said, IGEADI also distributed the donations to several ministries such as the Ministry of Health, such as a Prado car and 3 ambulances,

Currently, IGEADI has over 127, 93 functioning heavy types of equipment, 17 are in the process of being repaired and 23 are damaged.
