DILI, 02 march 2023 (TATOLI) – President of the Republic José Ramos Horta encouraged Timorese Resource to continue the onshore drilling campaign.
“We briefed President Horta on the ongoing onshore drilling campaign. The Head of State encouraged us to continue the oil and gas exploration activities,” Timor Resource’s Country Director, Filomeno Andrade told reporters at the Presidential Palace.
He said that during the meeting, they discussed the drilling of the three wells in the southern part of the country, namely Feto-Kmaus, Liu-Rai, and Lafaek.
“The drilling of the Lafaek well has exceeded a depth of 3100 meters and is expected to reach a total depth of 3500 meters in about one or two weeks. The drilling of this well shows a good sign,” he explained
He said that Timor Resource will soon conduct well tests to identify the maximum quantities of oil and gas in the Lafaek well.
Andrade said that the results of the exploration of the three wells would be announced by the National Petroleum and Minerals Authority (ANPM).
