DILI, 13 september 2023 (TATOLI) – Six new non-resident ambassadors, on wednesday, presented their letters of credence to the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta.
The non-resident ambassadors are the Ambassador of Bahrain, Ahmed Abdullah Alharmasi; the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdullah Salem Obaid Salem AlDhaherri; the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Faisal Abdukkah H. Amodi; the Ambassador of Switzerland, Oliver Zehnder; the Ambassador of Ireland, Padanig Francis; and the Ambassador of France, Fabien Penone.
“Establishing and strengthening friendship between Timor-Leste and these countries is important for the country as an independent country,” said in a statement.
These ambassadors are based in Indonesia but have the full authority to carry out diplomatic missions to Timor-Leste.
On behalf of their government, these ambassadors will promote friendly relations with Timor-Leste.
They will also negotiate with the government of Timor-Leste on diplomatic ties and so on.
