DILI, 15 december 2023 (TATOLI)—The President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta, together with the Director of Management of the Dili company, Lda Development, Tony Jape, and the Director of Management of the Jack Group, Dilip Khatri, today inaugurated the opening of the Jack store at CBD10 Timor Plaza.
“Congratulations to Timor Plaza and Jack’s Malls, which are starting to open today in this new building. This building is very strategic, so it can attract customers to visit,” President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta, in his speech at Timor Plaza Dili on friday, said.
At the same place, Jack’s Management Director, Dilip Khatri, said that by opening this shopping store, it could open up job opportunities for Timor-Leste residents.
“We are pleased to bring Jack Retail to Timor-Leste, not only to contribute to retail but also to the local community through job creation and economic development. Our commitment is not only to trade but also to foster strong relationships with the communities we host,” Director of Management of Jack Group of Companies, Dilip Khatri, said.
Khatri recalled that Jack’s Retail was founded in 1969 and has built a good reputation as a retail giant with 48 stores in Fiji. It rocketed to Papua New Guinea in 2015 by opening a successful second store.
“Now, this brand has opened in Dili, Timor-Leste, which shows that Timor-Leste people are also highly dedicated to sports, consulting, and beauty. “The opening of this store not only celebrates the best retail but is also brand building for attractive store concepts, namely XL Sports and Baby Jacks,” he said.
He added that with the store officially opening, Timor-Leste can now get a different shopping experience than the famous Jack’s Retail. “This brand aims to become an integrated part of Timor-Leste society, promoting relationships and contributing to the nation’s prosperity,” he stated.
