VIETNAM, 09 June 2026 (TATOLI) – Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão and his delegation visited VSIP Bac Ninh on Monday as part of his official visit to Vietnam, aiming to learn from the country’s industrial development experience and explore opportunities for future economic cooperation.
The Timorese delegation was received by Lam Kim Vee, General Director and Legal Representative of VSIP Bac Ninh, together with officials from Bac Ninh Province.
During the visit, Prime Minister Xanana toured the industrial park and received briefings on its infrastructure, investment environment, and management system. The delegation also met with local authorities and VSIP representatives to discuss industrial development, investment promotion, and regional economic integration.
Speaking during the meeting, Prime Minister Xanana highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in the industrial sector as Timor-Leste advances its development agenda and prepares for full integration into ASEAN.
He emphasized that industrialization plays a key role in creating employment opportunities, attracting foreign investment, and supporting sustainable economic growth. The Prime Minister noted that Timor-Leste is keen to learn from successful development models in the region, including Vietnam’s experience in building modern industrial parks and attracting international investors.
Officials from Bac Ninh Province presented an overview of the province’s economic achievements, industrial expansion, and investment policies. They underscored Bac Ninh’s position as one of northern Vietnam’s leading industrial hubs and expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Timor-Leste through knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and future partnerships.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Timorese delegation to gain first-hand insight into Vietnam’s industrial development strategy and the role of industrial parks in driving economic transformation.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in industry, investment, and economic development, while exploring new avenues of collaboration that could contribute to the prosperity of both nations.
