KINSHASA, 24 March 2026 (TATOLI) – The g7+ Secretariat held a high-level meeting with Gracia Yamba Kazadi, Vice Minister of Finance of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, alongside g7+ Secretary-General Helder da Costa, Chief Operating Officer Félix Piedade, and Media and Communication Manager, Helche Silvester.
During the meeting, the Secretariat emphasized the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s important role as a founding member and current Vice-Chair of the g7+. In this capacity, the country contributes significantly to advancing the collective interests of conflict-affected states, particularly in shaping global discussions on economic governance and development cooperation.
Discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the g7+ and the Ministry of Finance, including through the Rapid Response Advisory Centre. This initiative is designed to provide timely and practical technical support to member states, especially in areas such as public financial management, economic planning, and complex negotiations with international partners.
Vice Minister Kazadi welcomed the initiative and underscored the importance of rapid, high-quality expertise to support informed financial decision-making. She highlighted opportunities for collaboration with the g7+, including peer learning among member states and knowledge exchange in areas such as natural resource management and sustainable financing.
Both parties agreed to enhance coordination by designating dedicated focal points within the Ministry of Finance and the g7+ Secretariat. These focal points will facilitate regular communication, ensure timely follow-up, and support the effective delivery of advisory services when required.
The meeting also addressed the importance of advancing the ratification of the g7+ Charter and strengthening the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s engagement in upcoming g7+ initiatives, including high-level meetings and collaborative platforms among member states.
