DILI, 11 May 2026 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste has taken a decisive step towards digitizing immunization services with the launch of the Immunization e-Tracker, the country’s first online tool for the national immunization programme.

Built for frontline health workers, the e-Tracker helps record every child’s vaccination history, flag missed doses, reduce duplication, facilitates automated report generation and support faster follow-up.

It also works offline, making it practical for remote health posts where connectivity can be a challenge.

WHO Representative Dr Arvind Mathur handed over tablets to support the pilot at Comoro Health Centre, which will be followed by a five-day training.

The tool is planned for nationwide expansion by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

WHO remains fully committed to supporting MoH in this digital transformation journey, helping build a more data-driven and equitable health system for the people of Timor-Leste.

The immunization e-Tracker within the Timor-Leste Health Information System (TLHIS) was introduced last month.

The move marked an important shift from paper-based records to individual-level digital immunization data.

Following the introduction of the e-Tracker system, WHO Timor-Leste, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Dili Municipal Health Service, oriented health workers at the Comoro Community Health Centre (CHC) as they tested the platform by entering data on vaccinated children.

The aim is to make records easier to enter, track and follow up in real time, helping frontline teams identify gaps, reach children on time, and strengthen routine immunization services across communities.
