TATOLI, Vietnam News Agency sign MoU to strengthen media cooperation

HANOI, 10 June 2026 (TATOLI) – TATOLI News Agency and Vietnam News Agency have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two national news agencies in the areas of journalism, information exchange, and media development.

The MoU was signed at the headquarters of the Vietnam News Agency in Hanoi by Noemio Mateus Soares Falcão, President of TATOLI News Agency, and Vu Viet Trang, General Director of the Vietnam News Agency.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Expedito Ximenes, Secretary of State for Social Communication, together with members of the Board of Directors and senior officials of the Vietnam News Agency.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in news and information exchange, journalist training, professional capacity building, multimedia content production, and the sharing of expertise and best practices in media management. It also seeks to promote collaboration in digital transformation and innovation, enabling both institutions to enhance their ability to provide accurate, timely, and reliable information to the public.

Later, the signed documents were officially exchanged during a ceremony held at the Government Palace in Hanoi as part of the official visit of Timor-Leste Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão to Vietnam.

The exchange ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, underscoring the importance both governments place on strengthening cooperation in the fields of communication and media.

During the ceremony, the Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged by TATOLI President Noemio Mateus Soares Falcão and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, representing the Vietnam News Agency.

The inclusion of the MoU among the bilateral cooperation documents exchanged at the Government Palace reflects the growing partnership between Timor-Leste and Vietnam and highlights the commitment of both countries to expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including information and communication, technology, trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges.

Through this partnership, TATOLI and the Vietnam News Agency aim to strengthen collaboration between journalists and media professionals, facilitate the exchange of news and information, and promote greater awareness and understanding of developments in both countries. The agreement is also expected to contribute to the professional development of media personnel through training opportunities, institutional exchanges, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The MoU marks an important milestone in the relationship between the two national news agencies and serves as a symbol of the enduring friendship and cooperation between Timor-Leste and Vietnam. As bilateral relations continue to deepen, enhanced media cooperation is expected to play an increasingly important role in fostering mutual understanding and supporting future collaboration between the two nations.
