BEIJING, 11 October 2025 (TATOLI) – Leaders from around the world will gather in Beijing, China, for a high-level meeting on women, scheduled to take place from October 13 to 14.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony and deliver a keynote address, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun announced.

Jiakun told reporters at a regular press briefing on Thursday that the meeting, co-hosted by China and UN Women, will bring together heads of state, government leaders, parliamentary speakers, deputy prime ministers, ministers, leaders of international organizations, and other distinguished guests from across the globe.

He said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, which addopted the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, saying the meeting seeks to reafirm the spirit of the conference and accelerate the implementation of its outcomes.

Jiakun stressed that the meeting will inject new momentum into advancing gender equality and the well-rounded development of women, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, according to Xinhua report.

Jiakun said China looks forward to collaborating with the international community to make the upcoming meeting a success and turn it into another milestone in the history of global women’s development.
