DILI, 15 october 2022 (TATOLI) – The Ambassador of Indonesia to Timor-Leste, Okto Dorinus Manik said Indonesia’s Damri busses will begin their services for the Kupang-Dili route, in november.
“Last week, the Transportation ministry of both countries (Timor-Leste and Indonesia) completed the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). So, a total of 10 Damri Buses will start operating next month, Ambassador Manik told reporters at Presidential Palace, today.
At the same place, the Governor of Kupang, Victor Bangtilo Laskodat said that in addition to inland transport connectivity, Indonesia will also look towards ensuring its air and sea connectivity with Timor-Leste.
He said the transport connectivity will boost the connection between the people of the two regions.
“We hope that this bilateral cooperation will improve the welfare of the people of both countries in the future,” Laskodat said.
In july 2022, the transportation ministry of both countries signed MoU to open land transportation access that directly links Kupang and Dili, the capitals of both regions.
The transportation connectivity would enable individuals, institutions, and corporations to interact and undertake economic, social, cultural, or political activities.
