DILI, 06 may 2022 (TATOLI) – The Government of Timor-Leste, has approved the decree-law on the 13th-month salary, presented by the Vice Minister, and the Minister of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI), Armanda Berta dos Santos.
The approval of the decree-law paved way for the provision of US$200 as a 13th-month salary for all households across the country.
Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães said the provision of the US$200 aimed to support the economic hardship of all households in the country.
He said all of the registered households are eligible to receive the salary, except those who registered after february 28, 2022.
According to UNDP in Timor-Leste, 42% of Timorese people currently live below the national poverty line.
Therefore, the 13th month’s salary will build a bridge to an equitable economic recovery for all households.
