DILI, 13 july 2021 (TATOLI)- The National non-governmental organization Ba Futuru (NGO) established a preschool to help children under five year old develop their brain before going to primary school.
The preschool was established and accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in late 2012. It is aimed to implement the organization’s ‘learning process through play-ground’ program and ensures all children have the right to access for proper education.
“The method is used for children with an abstract and component to help children’s brains develop quickly and children can gain [self-confidence]. They can be acquainted with their own abilities through the objects.
Ba Futuru organization provides qualified teachers who can guide students using a method of play based learning. All children are eligible to study with an object or instrument for the learning process through playing.
This methodology helps children to be active and not passive but they are on guidance to increase their knowledge with utilizing instrument”, The director of Ba Futuru, Juliana Marçal told to TATOLI Agency, in her office, at Rai Kotu, Comoro on monday.
She added that the organization prohibits teachers from using any form of violence against children, but must ensure all children with child protection and child right to be learning.
“Our school only accommodates 30 children, as it has limited classrooms. Education chooses our preschool to be a model for preschoolers. We provide 30 students in a class to ensure all children are active and interact with teachers during the learning process,” she said.
Ms. Juliana Marçal said that this preschool has become a good example for others in Dili.
Ba Futuru also trained teachers with the basic and secondary education on the pedagogy of teaching.
The Training is offered to guide teachers to understand that ‘there is no violence’ in the learning process. Training can help teachers to prevent verbal violence and create an animated environment for students. This pedagogy can help students not feel tired in class and active learning.
