DILI, September 4, 2020 (TATOLI) – The Director-General of Health Service, Odete Viegas, has announced that the newly Timorese patient affected with COVID-19 has recovered.
“Now we have remained one active case. He is Indonesian citizen, she recalled that one patient was admitted on August 20 and another was on August 26, are in Vera Cruz Isolation Center. In regards to the first patient, he has performed twice tests and the results were negatives, and he is discharged by today,”Ms. Viegas said at press conference at the Vera Cruz Isolation Center.
Ms. Viegas also recalled that the first test of the patient who entered the isolation center on August 26 was positive, so he will wait until the 4th or 5th of this month for the second test.
According to her, the number of patients who have been recovered is increased to 26, so there is currently only one patient remain in Vera Cruz.
The also reveals that, the total cumulative number of tests performed is 5,860, with 100 people still awaiting the test results and 5,733 have tested negative to covid-19.
Besides 205 people are in mandatory quarantine, 152 in self-quarantine and 3,835 have already fulfilled the confinement period.
The Ms. Viegas also called on the population to cooperate with the authorities to ensure the control and surveillance on population who coming from borderland.
“I asked the entire population to continue to comply with the rules imposed by the Ministry of Health together with the World Health Organization,” he concluded.
It is recalled that the Minister of Health, Odete Belo, announced, on August 20, a positive case of covid-19, a Timorese citizen from Indonesia.
“We have found a case imported from a 25-year-old Timorese citizen from Denpasar [Bali, Indonesia], who entered Timor-Leste on August 5, with a Citilink flight chartered by the government’s SEFOPE,” she said.
