2147 University Students will graduate from three universities in  2020

DILI, 09 September 2020 (TATOLI)– This year 2147 university students across three Universities in Timor-Leste will celebrate the end of their schooling with formals and graduations despite the global pandemic.

The total number of 2147 students can be broken down further. 1.347 students from UNPAZ university, 500 students from UNTL and 300 students from IOB.

UNPAZ university Reitor, Adolmando Amaral, said that students who will be graduating from university are coming from the Department of Economics, Human Rights, Social Science, Public Health Department, Engineering and Technology Agriculture Department, Education Department, Philosophy, and Post-graduate programs.

“Our students in their final semester are now working on a variety of things such as their thesis as well as the scientific work exam, they will be doing the survey, after presented their survey report in the final exam to do the post-graduation,” he told Tatoli via Phone.

UNTL university Rector, Francisco Miguel Martins, said the specialist for post-graduate survey  will include in the Clinic area for medical such as Family Health and Epidemiology.

“currently the finalist is doing their registration in the Department of Academic Administration as the graduation time is nearing and will be held on 25 of September 2020, he said.

Minister of Higher Education and Culture (MHEC), Longuinhos dos Santos, revealed he has received verbal information from UNTL regarding the graduation ceremony, but has had not received their list of graduates.

“I received the information from the UNTL but I have not received the lists of graduate students, “he said.

IOB Rector, Augosto da Conceição Soares, said this year IOB will graduate 300 students and the IOB has submitted the graduation request to the Ministry of Higher Education to get approval.

“We will wait for the clearance from the Ministry of Higher Education, to approve permission for the graduation,” Mr.Soares said.
