DILI, 10 October 2020 (TATOLI)– a 36 years old Pakistan person has a confirmed case of COVID-19 after identified testing positive by the Health Ministry on Saturday (10/10), and they have been transferred to Vera-Cruz Isolation Center.
The coordinator for COVID-19 Ministry of Health, Nilton da Silva said, the patient traveled from Dubai on September 25, 2020, with Emirates Airlines arrived in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on 26 of September while from Malaysia to Dili on September 27.
According to him, the patient traveled along with 150 passengers from Malaysia to Timor-Leste.
“The patient was auto-quarantining at Beach Garden Hotel together with 23 others for the past 13 days, however with this confirmed case, they will have an additional 14 days of quarantine for other 22 of them,”
Mr Silva added the patient started to show symptoms of COVID-19 during the initial five days of his quarantine, with is coughing, fever and diarrhea.
The patient was confirmed after the team conduct two tests with the patients and identified that the patient is positive to COVID-19.
“the patient stayed in a different room, within the quarantine site, and he was not joining with the others, he only contacted with the cleaning assistant,” he said.
So far the number of people who have completed the 14 days of mandatory quarantine is, 4 916.
