KOICA Provides Personal Protection Equipment to the Civil Protection Secretary

DILI, 28 October 2020 (TATOLI) – Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) announced support for covid-19 with protection equipment to the Civil Protection Secretary.

The support has been directly handed over by the Director of KOICA, Kim Sikhyon to the Civil Protection Secretary, Joaquim Gusmão accompany by his delegation from the office of Civil Protection.

The support equipment provided was, 100 boxes of face masks, Eye protection 1000 pcs, Hand Sanitizer 1000 bottles, Glasses 150 pcs, Shoes 500 pcs, Corpse body bag 100 pcs, Infrared temperature thermometers 50 pcs, Overalls with hoods 525 pcs no Face shield 150 pcs.

The cost of this equipment totals $50,000,00.

Mr Gusmão thank the government of KOREA and KOICA for providing this support, and the equipment, which will help SEPS.

“We don’t know when we will see an end of COVID-19 that is continuing to affect the world, and our state has decided to extend the state of emergency for the seventh period, to give the space for us to avoid the disease,” he said.

Director of KOICA, Kim Sikhyon, said KOICA would continue to support Timor-Leste to fight against COVID-19.

“With this equipment, we can support the prevention of covid-19 in their workplace, because currently, the government has decided to extend the state of emergency because there is one patient once again confirmed with a positive case of covid-19,” he said.
