DILI, 06 november 2020 (TATOLI)– Timor-Leste Debating Group (TLDG) will organized a second Timor-Leste National Varsity English Debating Championship (TL-NVEDC) which will be coincided with the commemoration of the Timor-Leste National Youth Day on 12 of November.
The TLDG activities will involve the students across the country to take part in this tournament and also aimed at providing a dedicated platform for the fellow Timorese university students and high schools students to join and articulate their voices and though in a critical manner through a well- stablished Asian Parliamentary model and beyond.
According to the Committee President, Leónia L Freitas, there will be 21 students patriating in the debates, these students are coming from different team and different universities across the country.
“The team are coming from the Institute of Business (IOB), ISFAT institution, UNITAL university and São José de Brito high schools,” Ms Freitas told Tatoli via Phone.
every team compose from four person and three people from every team will be participated in the debating.
“this activity will involve three people from every team, and the winner will be awarded with different award,” Ms Freitas said
She also added that the team will participate a five days virtual training provided by the organization and giving by Mr Conor o-priem from Australia who was the former trainer last year.
At the same time, she said, the best team will receive the award along with the best judges, the awards be in the form of trophy and bill.
“Best team will continue to have the opportunity to attend the debates represent Timor-Leste in the Regional meeting of the Asean Championship over the election,” she said.
