2020 Schools National Exams: 53,425 students pass the test

DILI,18 december, 2020 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s Ministry of Education has announced the results of 55,072 students participated in the National Exam for this year.   

“Among the 55,072 students enrolled in the exams, 53,425 of them have passed the test while 1,647 students were failed,” Minister of Education, Armindo Maia, at a press conference in Vila Verde.

He affirmed that, among the 30,359 students of the 9th year Basic Education, 96.9% were passed in the exams and 3.03% students were failed. While 19,671 of high school students were performing the good grade in the exams.

“Students from Technical Vocational High School enrolled in the exam were 4,568 but only 4,317 students were passed the exams, while for the public high school 20.145 students were enrolled for the exams and 19.671 students were passed the exams while 474 students were failed”, he added.

The Coordinator of the National Curriculum, Pedro Ribeiro Gonçalves, revealed that students who obtained the high grades is a student from the CAFÉ school of Bobonaro , students from the Secondary School of Science and Technology and student from Social Sciences and Humanities.

According to the Mr. Gonçalves said the students with high grades will be awarded by the Ministry of Education with a Certificate of Recognition.
