DILI, 29 december, 2020 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste Government approved an amendment for the measure implementing during the nine level of state of emergency, which, among other restrictions, limit the group gathering more than 10 people.
The President for the Council of Ministers, Fidélis Leite Magalhães, said it is necessary to adopt new measures to prevent an outbreak of covid-19 in the country.
“With this change, the rules of social distance are redefined”, Fidelis Magalhães said after the end of the Council of Meeting at the Government Palace.
He added that, group gathering are not allowed for more than ten people, especially at the events and celebrations, unless they are part of the same household.
Maintain a minimum distance of one meter in public, wear mask regularly, and washing hand thoroughly.
The measures are justified in accordance with the health situation in the West Timor, Indonesia, where 1,700 positive cases of covid-19 are confirmed.
He also recalled that the new strain of SARS-Cov-2, is more contagious than the original one.
