Timor-Leste is yet to receive the feedback from ASEAN Economic Community (AEC)

DILI, 06 january 2021 (TATOLI) – The Minister of Foreign Affaris and Cooperation of Timor-Leste, Adalzija Albertina Xavier Reis Magno informs that Timor-Leste is yet to receive the feedback from the ASEAN Secretary regarding the virtual meeting of the ASEAN Economy Community.

 “We are yet to receive any feedback from the ASEAN Community member, we will update to the public as soon as we receive the feedback,” Adaljiza Magno told Tatoli at Government Palace.

She said, Timor-Leste has fulfilled the three important requirements from the ASEAN Economy Community, thus they will conduct their fact-finding mission to Dili, Timor-Leste after the end of COVID-19.

So far there are three critical pillars: Political Security (APSC FFM), Economic Community (AEC) and Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC).

“Timor-Leste is waiting for the feedback, surely they are waiting to provide the feedback to Timor-Leste,” she said.

Despite of all countries were affected by COVID-19 in 2020, but the work of diplomats was running well.

“Covid-19 has affected many countries’ economy but there was no impact on diplomatic service, because we have joined many virtual meetings and we receive the positive feedback,” she said.
