Schools are required to begin face to face learning process by january 25

DILI, 19 january 2021 (TATOLI)– The National Director of Dili Education Service, Duarte Braganza announces to all the school levels to resume face-to-face learning  after making the decision to delay school reopening amid a surge of COVID-19 cases.

 “Following the School Calendar, all the schools levels were supposed to resume their activities on January 18, 2021, but until today some schools are continued to close. Thus the Director request to the schools to resume face to face learning on 25 january, 2021” Director Duarte Braganza said.

Braganza acknowledged several schools are yet to begin their classes due to the fact that they are not yet finish the enrolment process.

 “As the Education Responsible for the Dili Municipality, Request to the entire schools within Timor-Leste to begin their learning activities in the next Monday and not to jeopardize the students,” he said.

At the same time Duarte Braganza appeals to all the schools Directors to comply with the measure implemented by the Ministry of Health, and to remain the students wearing the masks, washing hands and maintain the social distance.
