DILI, 19 january 2021(TATOLI)– The U.S Embassy in Dili, Charge d’Affaires Elias Parra met with The Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak to provide an update on various programs and the mission that has been implemented specially through the Millennium Challenge Coperation (MCC).
“”We met PM.Taur to provide an update on various programs between the two.countiries especially about Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compacts program” Charge d’AffairesElias Parra informs the journalists after the meeting.
Elias Parra extends congratulation from the MCC Executive Director to Timor-Leste for being selected to in the MCC program.
“Despite of COVID-19 has delay the development process, but we will work together to forward to a great year of partnership in 2021,” Elias Parra said.
The MCC agreement will be sign in June, and Timor-Leste will receive $285 million from the US to conduct the MCC activities. The first project to be implemented is the project for clean water and sanitation, drainage and education projects.
