DILI, 02 feburary, 2021 (TATOLI) – The General Coordinator of the Covid-19, Odete Viegas, revealed that all citizens arriving in Timor-Leste are required to comply with mandatory quarantine , except citizens that hold the diplomatic passports.

“Those who hold the diplomatic passports are allowed to have self-quarantined. The rest of the citizens will be subject to mandatory quarantine, ”Odete Viegas told reporters at a press conference in Caicoli, Dili.

The statement highlighted based on the Government Decree no. 3/2021 of january 29, regarding the measures imposed by the government in the level ten of State of Emergency.

“This means that it is intended only for diplomats and not for people with a service passport,” She said.

She also said, all citizens who had the authorization to carry out the self-quarantine before February 2 must now comply with the mandatory confinement.

“Our Country is currently experiencing a slight increase in the number of active cases of covid-19, due to illegal entry from the land borders, thus I ask the entire population, especially those who live near the border, to cooperate with the authorities to control the borders,” she said.
