DILI, 03 january 2021 (TATOLI)– The Ambassador of Japan to Timor-Leste, Kinefuchi Masami met with the President of Parliament, Aniceto Longuinhos Guterres Lopes, to discussed the future of cooperation between the two parliaments.
“Today we discuss the bilateral cooperation between the two countries; focus on the assistances of the cooperation that implemented previously, also focus on the future assistance program that will be examine between the two countries,” Ambassador of Japaun To Timor-Leste, Kinefuchi Masami told the journalists at the PN.
Kinufuchi Masami said the objective of the meeting was to cement the cooperation between both parliaments regarding the institutional development and work of the two sovereign bodies.
“Today we are discussing on how the cooperation will explore the relationship of the group since there is a commitment to make the development to the cooperation in the future,” he said.
At this point the Ambassador stressed that; Japan has established the proper group for the parliamentary friendships.
“The Parliament of Timor-Leste will rise the program with Japan thus the Ambassador will transmit the information to Tokyo to identify the answers,” he said.
He added that, the first meeting between Ambassador Masami and Aniceto Guterres was about the realization of the cooperation that will be organized in the future.
According to the Ambassador Masami, there will be another meeting to be conducted in the future about the cooperation in parliamentary activities between the two countries.
The ambassador also stressed that Aniceto Guterres acknowledged that the friendly ties between the two countries are fruitful in the context of Timor-Leste, so he called on the Ambassador of Japan to strengthen cooperation in various sectors.
