Timor-Leste registers two more cases of COVID-19, total active cases now at 24 and 53 recoveries

DILI, 3 february, 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste continued to register positive increase in the number of COVID-19 with two more Timorese patients isolated today.

The Coordinator of COVID-19, Niltor do Carmo da Silva said, the patient is 34 years old woman and 22 years old man, coming from Indonesia arriving in Timor-Leste on january 20 along with 118  Timorese including foreigners citizens.

“These patients have fulfilled the mandatory quarantine in different hotels, such as Hotel Leokase and the Hotel Time Square”, Mr Silva said during the press conference, at the Palácio das Cinzas, in Dili.

According to Silva, the patient took the tests on February 1 while another patient was in the February 2, and the results of both patients were positives.

With these new infections, Timor Leste has registered 53 recoveries out of 75 infected cases and 24 remain in the isolation.

Following the data from the Ministry of Health, until yesterday, 19,223 have completed the tests, 19,084 were negatives to covid-19 and 64 people waiting for the results.
