DILI, March 10, 2021 (TATOLI) – Covid-19 authority is Timor-Leste recorded additional three cases of covid-19 in Dili, increasing the number of active infections in the capital to 24 since March 7.
The Coordinator of COVID-19 crisis team, Rui Araújo said that the 24 cases detected in Dili are divided into several outbreaks – six from BTN II, from Aldeia Terra Santa, four from the village of 04 de Setembro, in Comoro, nine are the staffs from the State Secretariat for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE), two in Bebonuk, two are the staffs from the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) and one is a doctor from the Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares.
Mr Araújo added that, after the first two cases were identified in Dili, Tasi Tolu, the joint health team has been looking for the contacts of those infected since the 7th of March and has already collected 472 samples.
“Of these samples, 24 active cases were identified” said Rui Araújo, at the Díli Convention Center.
He highlighted the number of active cases in Timor-Leste which is 51 out of a total of 145, since the outbreak begun while 98 people have recovered.
With regard to the activity of the Crisis team, he said, since march 3, the teams have already collected 789 samples from ten municipalities including Oé-Cusse and Ambeno (RAEOA), through sentinel surveillance.
“Of the number, 545 results were negatives and 244 are still being analyzed,” he said.
Rui Araújo added that, from the 2nd to the 19th of March, the CIGC registered 75 people have the regular entry across the land with seven irregulars.
