USAID provides $93 million to Timor-Leste to support Government’s program

DILI 25 march 2021 (TATOLI) – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide US $ 93 million to Timor-Leste do develop the Government program through various ministries, The United State Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Charles Kevin Blackstone statement today.

“I met with the Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, to hear the priorities programs from the current Government. The US embassy, ​​through USAID, will cooperate with the relevant ministries to support the programs, ” Ambassador Blackstone said after the meeting with the Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, at the Government Palace.

US budgetary assistance is intended for the implementation of various programs in Timor-Leste, such as those for economic development, gender equality and support for vulnerable groups.

Ahead of February, the United States of America supported the Timorese Government with US $ 285 million to finance projects in the sectors of education, water, sanitation and drainage.
