DILI, 26 march, 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste reports 58 new covid cases raising the total number of infections in the country to 298 so far, The new infections included 54 local cases in capital Dili and four cases in Baucau,said a CGIC Coordinator statement.
Of the 54 new cases in Dili, majority are the cases generated from the six outbreaks.
Araújo said, Authority identified seven covid infection in the village of 30 Agosto without identifying the contacts.
At the same time, Authority also identified seven more cases in Maucocomate, Becora are the contact of the same outbreaks. With 11 new infections were identified in the area of Metin 1, link to the outbreak from the same area, six cases from Rosario area, four cases identified in Mura area while eight cases were confirmed from different quarantine sites across Dili.
Araújo said, between the eight cases recorded from quarantine sites, one is a health professional and the rest traveled from Portugal, Italy and the Philippines.
Likewise, the 11 cases in Dili, one was detected during a sentinel surveillance and the rest are link to the different outbreaks across Dili.
With regards to the new recorded cases, Araújo said, 292 cases are detected in Dili with the total of 49 outbreaks linked to the march 7 local transmission, with 17 recoveries.
Baucau Municipality
Four cases were identified by the Authority from Builai, Buibau village, thus the total number of active cases increased to 20 with seven outbreaks.
Of the total number reported today, 27 are men and 31 are women.
