DILI, 29 march 2021 (TATOLI) – The Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste today donated COVID-19 prevention equipment to the Ministry of Healt Timor-Leste. The equipment to be distributed to front liners in support of the war against this pandemic.
The Vice Minister of Health, Bonifácio Maucoli Dos Reis thanked the Government of China for the support it has always given to Timor-Leste, specially in the fight against COVID-19.
“I want to extend my gratitude appreciation to the Government of China and the China Harbour in Timor-Leste for the available supports of the prevention equipment in the fight against covid-19 that has been critical in our country,” Vice Minister told the journalists at the SAMES building, Aitarak Laran Dili.
He also realized that, the Chinese government provided assistance not just now but since the outbreak begun in Timor-Leste and China was the first country to provide the health protective equipment to TImor-Leste.
Bonifacio also hopes that with this support, it can facilitate front liner work to deal with Covid-19 and bring this country free from the virus.
Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Xiao Jiangu said, China will forever continue its support to Timor-Leste in any time specially in this current situation.
“Together with our companies in Timor-Leste, we will constantly support Timor-Leste, Because we know that the covid-19 situation here is very difficult. Even though all activities have stopped, we will manage to support,” Ambassador Xiao Jiangu said.
The supply items including face masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol.
Previously, the Chinese government through it Embassy in Dili, had provided assistance to Timor-Leste, especially for the front line ministries in the fight against covid-19.
