DILI, may 6, 2021 (TATOLI) – The Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, urged the population to cooperate with the Government in the performing of the covid-19 test across the territory.
“I encourage the population to cooperate with the Government in the implementation of the test for the new coronavirus to all Timorese citizens, to avoid increase in the number of deaths by covid-19”, PM, Taur Matan Ruak said after the end of the meeting of the President of Republic, Francsico Guterres Lú Olo in Aitarak laran Dili.
Prime Minister Matan Ruak added “in as much us we want to get through this difficult moment, we will have to make some sacrifices, so I request to everyone to cooperate with the health authority to perform the mass tests.” PM said.
It is recalled that, on May 5, the Council of Ministers approved the draft of Government Resolution for the first amendment to Decree No. 14/2021 of April 29, which containing the measures for implementing the declaration of the state of emergency stablished by the Decree of the President of the Republic No. 24/2021, of 28 April.
According to this amendment, “all individuals across the national territory who are covered by mass or random testing operations, according to the criteria defined by the health authorities, are required to perform medical tests for the diagnosis of covid-19”, the President for the Council of Minister, Fidelis Magalhães said.
Magalhães also said that people who do not agree to have the medical examination, without impair to criminal responsibility, will have to comply with mandatory prophylactic isolation, in a health establishment, residence or in an isolation center established for this purpose.
