DILI, 21 may 2021 (TATOLI) General- Director of ministry Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI), Rui Manuel Gago Exposto said since the Government imposes the Isolation Zone restriction, the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI) has provided 35.748 amount of rice to the vulnerable people and families affected by natural disaster across the national territory.
“During the lockdown, The Minister of Social Solidarity and Inclusion has offered 35.748 of rice for the community in the municipality vulnerable people, families affected by the floods and people with disabilities. MSI also provides supports to the relevant institutions that work with the MSI,” Rui Manuel Gago Exposto said at a Press conference, at MSSI, Caicoli, Dili this Friday.
Timor Leste government through MSSI has rice assistance for the 11.979 students who are residing in Dili. The support of 1.000 was managed by the Ministry of Education, in addition, 950 amount of rice was distributed to people with disabilities.
MSSI also supports foods for Timor Leste National Police (PNTL) for those who are affected by the natural disaster with a total of 1.000 sacks of rice and another 5.755 sacks of rice is offering to 1.667 vulnerable families in Dili municipality.
The General Director added that MSSI teams are constantly working in the fields to identifying victims affected by natural disasters and directly providing support for the victims who are in need.
Otherwise, the MSSI information is not broadcasted in the media, however, the MSSI always present for the community and providing support for the victims during the pandemic of the covid-19 situation.
He appeals to all victims who are yet to register in the MSSI, to approach their village office or the responsible authority to access for the humanitarian support from the Government.
