DILI, 05 June 2021 (TATOLI) – The Health Authority today reported 148 new cases of Covid-19, and 176 recoveries.
Among these 148 new cases, 128 were detected in capital Dili, while the rest were in the municipalities, including 12 in Baucau, 1 in Bobonaro, 1 in Covalima, 3 in RAEOA, and 3 in Viquque municipality.
The spokesperson of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (ICMC), Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said that 4.7 percent of these new cases were symptomatic, and the rest showed no symptoms.
He said the majority of today’s cases were between the age of 12 and 59, including three children were below the age of 12 and five elderly individuals over 60.
Araujo added 30 patients were hospitalized at Vera Cruz Isolation Center; three of these patients were critically ill.
Since yesterday, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has carried out 1006 PCR tests, including 25 sentinel surveillance tests, 29 through contact tracing, 206 via random screening, 717 were carried out following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 18 for the international travel authorization, and 11 in quarantines.
The health authorities kept calling on the communities in capital Dili and municipalities to strictly obey and practice the health and safety guidance that had been implemented since the country imposed a lockdown in Dili and other municipalities.
There have been 7659 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Timor-Leste, while 17 people have now died, and 5169 recoveries.
