DILI, 07 june 2021 (TATOLI) – The Health Authority today reported 24 new cases of COVID-19, and 194 recoveries.
Among these 24 new cases, 20 were detected in capital Dili, while the rest were in the municipalities, including 1in Ainaro, 2 in Baucau, and 1 in Bobonaro municipality.
The spokesperson of ICGC, Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said that of the 24 cases, 16.6 percent were symptomatic.
He said the majority of today’s cases were between the age of 12 and 59, including an elderly person over 60.
Araujo added 21 patients were under treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center and four patients were critically ill.
Since yesterday, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has carried out 342 PCR tests, including 7 sentinel surveillance tests, 30 through contact tracing, 18 via random screening, 277 were carried out following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 10 for the international travel authorization, and zero in quarantines.
The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 8.3 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili of 24.4, and in Baucau 5.6.
The health authorities kept calling on the communities in capital Dili and municipalities to strictly obey and practice the health and safety guidance that had been implemented since the country imposed a lockdown in Dili and other municipalities.
There have been 7764 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Timor-Leste, while 17 people have now died, and 5515 recoveries.
