COVID-19 Update: ICGC records 83 news cases, 119 recoveries, and active cases at 1580

DILI, 12 june 2021 (TATOLI) – The Integrated Crisis Management Center (ICGC), on Saturday, registered 83 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, with 119 recoveries, and 1,580 active cases.

Of the 83 new cases, 66 were detected in Dili, while the 17 others cases were detected in the municipalities, including 1 in Aileu, 4 in Baucau, 6 in Bobonaro, and 2 each in Ermera, Manatuto, and Viqueque municipality.

Of the 83 new cases, 77 were between the age of 12 and 59 and six elderly persons over the age of 60.

The spokesperson of ICGC, Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said 8.4 percent of the new cases were symptomatic.

In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (NHL) had performed 1334 PCR tests, including 56 sentinel surveillance tests, 104 through contact tracing, 237 via random screening, 851 were performed following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, and 86 in quarantines.

The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 5.9 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili of 15.6, in Baucau 6.3, and Viqueque 5.1.

Araujo said 22 patients were under treatment at the Vera Cruz Isolation Center, and 2 were in critical condition.

The CIGC kept calling on the communities to strictly obey and practice the health and safety guidance that had been applied since the country imposed lockdown in Dili and other municipalities.

There has been a total of 8228 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 6630 recoveries and 18 deaths, according to data of the CIGC.
