DILI, 15 June 2021 (TATOLI)- The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication (MTC) will increase the bandwidth capacity of 205 government agencies by 2021 to provide better internet services.
Minister of Transport and Communications, José Agostinho said, his office has so far made management for 200Mbps supply to 196 Agencies, this request will continue to increase every time and from the data available to date there are 205 recipients for 200Mbps.
“The plan has been made and now the funds for this plan include in OJE 2021 (General State Budget 2021) to upgrade bandwidth capacity from 200Mbps to 1MB, which is equivalent to 1000MB/Second, and 205 government agencies will be benefited from this “José Agostinho told Tatoli reporter at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication Office, on Tuesday.
He said the Ministry through the Board of Communications and the National Communications Authority (ANC) will find a solution by communicating with the internet operators since many people have been concerning about the quality of the internet in this country.
“The operators are the Government’s partner and of course there will be the answer from them concerning the speed of internet, with the reasonable cost ” he said.
“The cost of internet is still expensive, because we use satellite services where there is a term are link up and must be paid for, and the solution is to upgrade bandwidth capacity,” he said.
ANC has also offered additional bandwidth for telecommunications operators at 10MHz from 1800MHz, as a temporary solution to wait for fiber optic investment strategies. The government policy is to improve telecommunications services for government agencies for mutual needs.
