Semester fees and free Internet for students have been processed at MF

DILI, 28 june 2021 ( TATOLI) – Minister of Higher Education, Art and Culture (MHAC), Longuinhos dos Santos, said that MHAC had submitted all documents and data from all students to the Ministry of Finance (MF) in the COVID’S fund section a few weeks ago.

“Based on data from students that MHAC received from various universities in Timor-Leste, there are 65.000 students who will receive semester fees for one semester including free internet fees, and this data has been submitted to the MF’s Covid-19 fund for processing in the near future,” said Santos to Journalist TATOLI News Agency at INFORDEP, Balide on monday.

He explained that all semester payments would be directly transferred to all Universities in Timor-Leste to recapitulate at each University.

Therefore, he appealed to all Universities, when receiving these funds, they must be managed effectively in order that they will not create new problems.

Previously MHAC had announced that the government would pay 2 semesters to each student according to each semester fee which each university implemented it and would also facilitate free internet worth $10 per month to access online learning due to the implementation of the lockdown to avoid the spread of COVID -19 in Timor-Leste.
