National HIV/AIDS Commission will become a Public Institution

DILI, 05 june 2021 (TATOLI)- Executive Secretary of HIV/AIDS, Atanasio de Jesus said the National Commission for the Eradication of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) will soon become a public institution.

“To become a Public Institution, we have made through preparations in this regard regarding the preparation of documents that were previously requested by the Ministry of Health to be fulfilled and will be submitted at the Council Ministers meeting to be appreciated,” said Atanasio in his office Praia dos Coqueiros, Dili, to Journalist TATOLI News Agency on monday.

He hopes that the Council Minister meeting will immediately decide to make an HIV/AIDS Commission for Public Institutions so that in the future we will
focus on combatting HIV/AIDS, which is increasing from year to year.

The plan for the HIV/AIDS Commission will be decided through a Council Minister meeting to make it a Public Institution in the near future.

“We want the HIV/AIDS Eradication Commission to immediately become a Public Institution so that it can work effectively and maximally in combating HIV/AIDS in the future,” He said.

He explained that they want the HIV/AIDS Commission to be made a Public Institution because this Commission works in the public interest to save East Timorese youth to stay healthy to build Timor-Leste in the future.
