DILI, 07 july 2021 (TATOLI)- Marie Stopes Clinical Quality Assurance provides advising consultation for Family planning program.
Marie Stopes Clinical Quality Assurance Manager in TL, Julia Costa said the data in 2020 shows almost 2000 clients temporarily paused routine consultations at Marie Stopes clinic due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Clients are worried about the spreading of COVID-19 and no public transportation accessibility. Most of them postponed their visit to the clinic for health consultation. The data for all municipalities showed that almost 2.000 patients visited Marie Stopes Clinic,” Julia explained to TATOLI at Marie Stopes Lecidere’s office, today.
She added some parents cancel family planning programs due on temporary paused consultation at Marie Stopes Clinic.
Ms. Julia also informs all clients to visit Marie Stopes clinic in order to get routine consultation of the family planning program, it is ensuring health care for reproductive organs and It is helping the clients to return for the planning program properly.
“It is vital consultation for health care in intimate areas, you cannot be ashamed to come to the clinic because we provide counseling for clients to make a choice, we just want to ensure the clients are healthy,”she said.
Country Director Marie Stopes, Grishma Bista said Marie Stopes has been offering health consultation to the people in Timor-Leste since 2006. The Marie Stopes clinic is well developed in Dili and expands to 11 municipalities, including RAEOA except Covalima municipality and Marry Staples has employed 82 staff.
To ensure all clients for more consultation, Marie Stopes Clinic also provides a Hotline called Liña Foin-sae with the help of 3 telecommunication channels providing telephone services such as Timor Telecom 800 7676, Telemor 7676 7676 and Telkomcel 7405 0000.
“This is a free hotline provided to have more consultations on reproductive health. Marie Stopes also conducts outreach at various Health Posts and Health Centers to increase everyone’s knowledge about reproductive health,” she said.
