DILI, 16 july 2021 (TATOLI)- Based on the data collected from 2003-2021 there were more than 1000 Cuban doctors who had served in Timor-Leste in serving various diseases suffered by the people of Timor-Leste, revealed the National Coordinator of Cuban to Timor-Leste Doctors MSc. Dr. Juan Carlos Chaves Godoy.
“Since 2003-2021 there have been more than 1.000 doctors from Cuba who have served as medics in Timor-Leste in treating the sick in general,” said Godoy in The Republic of Cuba embassy, Farol to Journalist of TATOLI News Agency on thursday.
Godoy informed that currently 160 Cuban doctors are still active in Timor-Leste and 160 are currently serving as medical doctors in health centers in 12 municipalities including RAEOA.
He added that since 2003-2021 Cuban doctors have served 13.000 sick people in various kinds of diseases suffered by the people of Timor-Leste and with the presence of Cuban medics the lives of patients can be saved.
Therefore, as doctors, we are very proud because we can help sick people and can also treat people’s illnesses, said Godoy.
