DILI, 22 july 2021 (TATOLI)- The Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL) Commissioner Faustino da Costa said the incident of dumping a baby in one of the trash cans in Manleuna, Dili, on saturday, 17 was in the process of searching for the suspects.
“The immoral mother who put her baby in a bag and then dumped it in the trash in Manleuana on saturday 17 at around 4 a.m. was already wanted by the PNTL,” Faustino said at the Presidential Palace, Aitarak Laran, to journalists of TATOLI News Agency on thursday.
According to Faustino, the PNTL has secured the newborn and has turned it over to FOKUPER to monitor its fate and preserve the kid’s welfare and health.
As a result, the PNTL invites everyone to cooperate if some moms suspected of dumping their newborns can report them to the PNTL for further investigation so that they can be held accountable in court, said Faustino.
