BAUCAU, 26 July 2021 (TATOLI)– The United States Military and the Timorese Military F-FDTL will join the Exercise Dalan ba Dame 21 (“Way for Peace” or DbD 21) from July 26th to August 6th, 2021, at the F-FDTL Land Component Base in Baucau, Timor-Leste.
DbD 21 Exercise of the US Military and F-FDTL marks the first year and is part of a continuing series of bilateral exercises designed to promote regional peace and security.
The Ambassador of the United State to Timor-Leste, Charles Kevin Blackstone said, Exercise Dalan ba Dame is an important example of how the United States and Timor-Leste are deepening the partnerships.
“By participating in this joint training, we are working together to successfully address common challenges while promoting regional and international security,” Ambassador Blackstone commented concerning the DBD 21.
Mr. Blackstone thanked the Government of Timor-Leste for enabling this training to go forward during the pandemic.
“I would like to thank the Government of Timor-Leste for enabling this training exercise to go forward safely during the ongoing pandemic.” said.
Mr. Blackstone at the same time stressed that This U.S. Army Pacific-sponsored exercise, which involves approximately 70 U.S. and 150 F-FDTL Soldiers, will enhance interoperability capabilities through training and cultural exchange.
he added that The training begins with the subject matter expert exchanges and professional development workshops that focus on basic infantry skills; security operations, such as traffic control points; and detainee handling training at the company level and below.
The U.S. Army will act following all the health requirements for COVID-19 and safety guidelines while staying on a mission in Timor-Leste.
