DILI, 31 july 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste, today, registers 154 new cases of COVID-19, with 41 recoveries, and the active cases were 983.
Of the new cases, 114 were detected in Ermera municipality, 34 in Dili, while the rest were identified in other municipalities, including two each in Baucau, Covalima, and Liquica.
With the newly detected cases, bringing the total cases in Ermera municipality to 474, Baucau 62, Covalima 54, and Viqueque 46.
The spokesperson of SIJK, Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said of today’s cases, 41.6 percent were symptomatic.
He said of today’s cases, 143 were between the ages of 12 and 59, including seven children under 12 and four elderly persons over 60. These new cases are made up of 77 men and 77 women.
Araujo informed that 15 patients were under intensive treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center, where 14 patients were in mild condition, while one was in moderate condition.
In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 709 PCR tests, including one sentinel surveillance test, 236 through contact tracing, 91 via random screening, 311 were carried out following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, eight for the international travel authorization and 62 in quarantines.
The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 6.1 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Ermera 38.9, Dili 4.9, and Viqueque 5.2.
The CIGC reiterated its call on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus in the country despite the ICGC’s records showing a slight drop in cases over the past week in the capital Dili and some municipalities.
There has been a total of 10.898 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 9.889 recoveries, active cases were 983 and 26 deaths, according to data of the Ministry of Health.
Likewise of the 754.864 eligible groups, 288.483 (38.2%) had received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Of the number, around 98.322 (13.03%) have also received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
