DILI, august 03, 2021 (TATOLI)- National Directorate for Conflict Prevention (NDCP) under the Secretary of State for Civil protection (SSCP) and United Nations Women (UNW) has defined the program to conduct the capacity building for mediators across 13 municipalities including RAEOA.
According to the statement released by the NDCP on Monday, the meeting was organized between the DNCP and UNW participated by the National Director of NDCP, Antonio Viegas, and chief Department of Conflict resolution, Julião Fernandes.
It is also stated the training will be involved the National Police, while the training for the NDCP facilitator will be conducting in Dili starting from August to December 2021.
It is recalled that the SSCP and UNW have signed an agreement letter last July 28, 2021, for the PAN 1325 FPS for the second period.
Both parties signed an agreement letter to ensure good coordination between two parties in the prevention and solving of conflicts at the community level.
The representative of United Nation women officially announced that the fund is allocated for two programs such as gender-sensitive mediation and the national plan 1325 of the UN resolution on women and peace and security.
This program is based on United Nations Security Council resolution number 1325 as women peace and security.
This accordance was signed between Secretary of State for Civic Protection, Joaquim Gusmão, and UN Women with the amount of sixty thousand USD dollars to execute for National Direction Conflict Prevention (NDCP).
This program is offered to establish the safety mediation system and educative in Timor-Leste. The sensible mediation for gender and PAN 1325 focus on women, peace, and security for the second period.
This project is funded by the Swiss government through UN Women to support the national development action plan 1325, especially to support the government commitment in ensuring the women’s agenda promoting peace and security in Timor-Leste.
